A feast of top-notch South West food, drink, live music and family entertainment will be on offer once again as one of the region’s best food festivals returns to Northernhay Gardens on the early VE May Bank Holiday Weekend in Exeter city centre.

A Bank Holiday banquet, you say?

To be held for it’s 17th year, from Friday 8th - Sunday 10th May, the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink is the perfect recipe of exhibitors, activities, music and cookery demos. Festival goers can look forward to our three main themes for this year’s festival: Fish Friday, Meat Up Saturday and Live Better Sunday - something for everyone with a little dusting of Devon magic.

Celebrating the historic VE Day

8th May 2020 will mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, and what better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with some great British grub, surrounded by friends and family? With Michael Caines at the helm, the festival is set to once again be full of tasty treats and plenty of delicious local produce. Save the dates and visit one of the South West’s most vibrant food festivals this spring!

Welcome to our 17th Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink!

Over the past 16 years the Festival has established itself as a vital part of life in Exeter and the South West, celebrating our rich food culture while bringing together local producers, the region’s best chefs, and of course you, the food-loving public. Without your ongoing support, your enthusiasm, your interest in real food and the people who create it, our Festival simply could not exist. So a huge thank you from all of us.

In this difficult economic period, we are delighted that the Festival goes from strength to strength. Since we launched in 2004, there has been a sea of change in local and national awareness of the importance of food in our daily lives. Food miles, sustainability, traceability, provenance, biodiversity and the importance of shopping local are all now firmly on the mainstream agenda for all those who care about good, healthy and delicious food as well as the value of maintaining traditional lifestyles and communities.
