Sunday visitors to this year’s Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink soaked up the atmosphere and the fantastic weather in the Exeter Castle Courtyard with live bands and musicians playing throughout the day alongside street food stalls, a gin and cocktail bar and local ales and ciders from the Festival Bar.
In Northernhay Gardens, visitors relaxed and enjoyed the region’s best food and drink and learnt the art of pizza making in the Westcountry Bakery Theatre, how to use spices with confidence from Bini Ludlow in the Darts Farm Teepees and got hands-on with Exeter Cookery School making soda bread and poached eggs. Top chefs Tom Williams Hawkes from The Salutation Inn and Dan Gambles from Lympstone Manor held the audience spell bound as they cooked up a storm in the Cookery Theatre.
Last night, ska classics rocked the Exeter Castle courtyard from top Madness tribute band, One Step Behind at the all new Exeter Beats. Tonight, the big sound of Soul Funktion will start the Exeter Beats party followed by headliner, David Live, the UK’s most sought-after tribute to the late, much-loved David Bowie.
Visitors can enjoy another day of foodie fun at the Exeter Food Festival tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday. Tickets are available on the gate.
